Hi there! Happy Valentine's Day!! I hope everyone is enjoying the Krafty Girls first blog hop and challenge! If you have come from Jessica at Craftin' and Stampin', you are in the right place! If you were just stopping by to check out my blog then you can start at the beginning HERE. Remember to check out each design team member's blog to check out their projects!
The first Krafty Girl's Challenge is to create a project that represents where you are from/live. Maryland is known for their crabs from the Chesapeake Bay so I decided to put these cute crabs on my card! The ironic thing is I've lived in Maryland my whole life and have never eaten a crab before because I don't like seafood! I made it a beach scene because me and my family love to go to the beach at Ocean City, MD! The crabs, sun, and sandcastle are all from Create a Critter. The bucket and shovel are from the H2O cartridge. I also used a white and black Gelly Roll Pen to stitch around the sandcastle and the card base. I hope you like it!
Now how about some blog candy! I will be giving away a 6x6 pack of My Mind's Eye double-sided paper and a 3-pack of Stickles which includes the colors Lavender, Star Dust, and Cotton Candy! All you have to do to be eligible to win is be a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post. I will announce the winner on Friday, Febuary 17, 2012! :)
The next stop is the talented Maribel from I Love Scrapping!
Thank you for hopping along with us and have a great day! :)
Love your card.

My sweet friend, I am so sorry for this delayed comment. I saw this fantastic project shortly after you posted, but then a million things happened and I didn't comment. It is marvelous, as is the unique theme! I love the cute little crabs and how each one is holding part of the sentiment.. and of course the entire beachy scene is beautiful. Thank you for the smile, Karen! I hope you're enjoying your new fabulous team! :o)

Hooray for Maryland! I have lived here all my life too but I eat crabs, lots and lots of crabs because I live on the Chesapeake Bay and we keep a crab pot in the water all summer long!
ReplyDeleteI just found the Krafty Girls site, is it too late to enter a card? Today is Tuesday, Feb 21st.
